Christine Uschy Wernke

Christine Uschy Wernke (born July 14, 1977 in Oldenburg ) is a German film director and screenwriter .

Life

After graduating from high school in Osnabrück, Christine Wernke studied "Anglo-American Studies" and "Modern German History" at the University of Cologne at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . From 2004 to 2007 she studied film directing at the International Film School in Cologne . Her graduation film Grenz was awarded the Young Talent Award of the “Grenzland-Filmtage Selb” and was shown at festivals such as the Fresh Films Fest Karlovy Vary and Short Cuts Cologne . Her films are dramas or comedies and are about personal fates, which are often placed in the context of larger social or political events. In 2008 the filmmaker was invited to the Berlinale Talent Campus . Since 2005 Wernke has worked as a director for feature and documentary films. In 2010 she shot the short film “Ships In The Ships”, which was funded by the Filmstiftung NRW and was shown at the Viewster Online Film Festival (VOFF). In 2011 the short documentary “Borschemich (new)” was made as part of the “ Dok You ” initiative . In 2012 he was nominated for the information / documentation category at the “ Goldener Spatz ” children's media festival . The filmmaker has been writing her full-length feature film since 2013. Christine Wernke also designs and shoots corporate films for companies such as OBO Bettermann and Frensch Lighting. Since 2012, she has been working intensively on cross-media campaigns and projects that include online games in addition to filmic elements .
