Limit is a German short film by director Christine Wernke from the year 2007 . The film was made as a graduation film at the International Film School Cologne .

action

When Dana returns to her hometown on the Baltic Sea after many years , she is haunted by unsettling nightmares and waking visions. A long-repressed memory is slowly reassembling. The young woman goes in search of her father Sebald, whom she has not seen since a failed escape from the GDR across the dark Baltic Sea. She confronts him with the repressed truth that her twin sister Meike died while trying to escape, that he never looked for her and that Dana has lived on as Meike ever since.

After the confrontation, the father and daughter can reconcile and return to their lives.

The film was co-produced by the broadcasters ZDF and ARTE . The film was broadcast by the südwild on3- the Bavarian Television bought into broadcasting.

The film won the “Sparkasse Hochfranken Young Talent Award” (endowed with 500 euros) at the Grenzland Filmtage Selb 2008.
