Christine de Veyrac (born November 6, 1959 in Toulouse ) is a French politician of the Union pour un mouvement populaire (UMP). She has been a member of the European Parliament since 1999 .

Life

Veyrac studied law in Toulouse.

Her political career began in 2001 as assistant to the mayor of Toulouse, where she was in charge of foreign relations. After losing the 2008 election in Toulouse, she became president of the UMP for the Haute-Garonne department on December 11, 2008 . She held this office until 2010.

In 1999 Christine de Veyrac was elected to the European Parliament and confirmed in 2004 and 2009. There she is a member of the Committee on Transport and Tourism and co-author of the list of operating bans for the airspace of the European Union . She represents the interests of the aircraft manufacturer Airbus , for the Galileo satellite navigation system and for free competition in rail transport.
