Christman Gniperdoliga

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Christman Gniperdoliga († around June 26, 1581 ), also called Groperunge from Kerpen , was a German serial killer reported in the literature .

Life

Many hundreds of murder victims have been attributed to him. He is said to have murdered mainly in Luxembourg and Kurtrier . He hid in a cave or a mine on the "Fraßberg" near Bernkastel on the Moselle , where he was finally caught. The Fraßberg was probably a wooded hill or mountain in the Moselle mountains about an old country mile ("a large Meyl", depending on the definition seven to ten kilometers) away from "Bergkessel", i.e. Bernkastel-Kues on the Moselle . He is said to have kept records of his victims and booty. He was wheeled from June 17, 1581 and, according to tradition, survived this ordeal for nine days.

Reports come from Caspar Herber, 1581, and Vincenz Sturm, 1587, among others. Ultimately, doubts remain as to whether this person really existed.
