Christoph Becker (politician)

Christoph Becker (born June 15, 1814 in Daun ; † April 24, 1886 there ) was a lawyer, member of the Frankfurt National Assembly and the Prussian House of Representatives .

Life

Becker was the son of a civil judge and attended grammar school in Trier , where he passed the Abitur in 1834. He studied law at the University of Bonn until 1836 and then in Berlin until 1838. From 1846 he was an assessor in Trier. From May 18, 1848 to May 30, 1849 he was a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly for Schönecken . He joined the parliamentary group of the Württemberger Hof. He voted for the election of Friedrich Wilhelm IV as German Emperor and the imperial constitution. After that he was again assessor in Elberfeld and Cologne from 1851 to 1858 . Until 1859 he was justice of the peace in Elberfeld, from 1859 district judge in Koblenz and from 1861 instructor in Simmern . From 1862 to 1866 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives, where he joined the Left Center. From 1871 he was then President of the Düsseldorf Regional Court .

He was a member of the Corps Palatia Bonn .
