Christoph Biermeier

Christoph Biermeier (born December 17, 1963 in Passau ) is a German theater director and author of plays. From autumn 2003 to 2016 he was the artistic director of the Schwäbisch Hall open-air theater .

Life

Biermeier studied theater studies , philosophy and modern German literature in Munich . He then worked as an assistant at the Schauburg in Munich and the Freiburg Municipal Theaters .

Since 1994 he has worked as a freelance director, including at the Bavarian State Theater in Munich, the Theater Lindenhof in Melchingen, the Mannheim National Theater , the State Theater Braunschweig , the Theater Osnabrück and the Municipal Theater Freiburg. At the TU Berlin , he had a teaching position in the master’s degree in stage design.

From autumn 2003 to summer 2016 he was the artistic director of the open-air theater in Schwäbisch Hall. Since then he has been working as a freelance director and playwright.

In September 2018 his first book in prose, the short story volume Confessional Secrets, was published .
