Christoph Brüning

Christoph Brüning (born November 13, 1967 in Oberhausen ) is a German law scholar and professor at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel .

Life

After graduating from Adalbert-Stifter-Gymnasium in Castrop-Rauxel in 1987 and completing basic military service, Brüning studied law at the University of Bochum from the 1988/89 winter semester . He finished his studies in 1993 when he passed the first state examination in law at the Hamm Higher Regional Court . Brüning completed his legal clerkship at the Dortmund Regional Court in 1995 with the second state examination. From April 1996 he worked as a research assistant for Rolf Grawert at the University of Bochum. In November of the same year Brüning received his doctorate there. iur. From the winter semester 1996/97 to the summer semester 2010 he taught as a lecturer for constitutional and administrative law at the Business and Administrative Academy in the industrial district of Bochum. In 2002 Brüning completed his habilitation in Bochum and received the Venia legendi for public law.

After substituting a professorship at the University of Bochum, Brüning initially worked as a judge at the Gelsenkirchen Administrative Court from 2004 to 2008 . Since the summer semester of 2008 he has been professor at the chair for public law and administrative sciences at Kiel University . Since 2010 he has also been teaching at the Administration and Business Academy in Leer / Ostfriesland. Since 2014 Brüning has also been a judge at the Schleswig-Holstein State Constitutional Court .
