Christoph Frei

Christoph Frei (* 1960 in Frauenfeld ) is a Swiss political scientist, journalist and since 2006 professor for the history of political ideas at the University of St. Gallen .

life and career

Frei studied political science at the University of St. Gallen , where he later also worked as an assistant. In 1993 he received his doctorate with a thesis on Hans Morgenthau . From 1994 to 1996 he worked as a personal assistant to Kurt Furgler . After the detour into politics, Frei took on teaching positions at various universities, including the Andrássy University in Budapest. From 2004 to 2007 he was the political editor of the Swiss monthly magazine . Since 2006 he has been adjunct professor for the history of political ideas and international relations at the University of St. Gallen. Frei is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Liberal Institute in Zurich.

He is co-editor of a volume on the thinking of Friedrich August von Hayek .

Frei has been a member of the Media Tenor advisory board since January 2011 .
