Christoph Ludwig Goddäus (also Goddaeus , * 17th October 1723 in Kassel , † 16th November 1793 ibid) was mayor of Kassel (1759-1775) and landgräflich-Hessian Privy Councilor .

Christoph Ludwig Goddäus was the son of the Hessen-Kassel government councilor Nikolaus Wilhelm Goddäus (1688–1728) and his wife Auguste Marie Sabine (1693–1752). He himself married Katharina Amalia Wetzell (* 1739) in Kassel on May 18, 1760, daughter of the professor at the Collegium Carolinum Justus Heinrich Wetzell there.

Life

Goddäus studied from 1741 jurisprudence at the Philipps University in Marburg and then resigned as alderman at the Municipal Court in Kassel in Hesse judicial service one. In 1759 he became mayor of the city of Kassel. He held this office until 1775. After that he was appointed the secret councilor of the landgrave administration.
