Christoph Riedl (born April 24, 1978 in Vienna ) is an Austrian journalist and television presenter . From 2010 to 2017 he presented the weekly ORF religion program Orientation . The communication expert has headed the Solidarity, Communication and Social Affairs department at Caritas St. Pölten since December 2017 and has been a member of the Austrian PR Ethics Council since 2019 .

Life

After attending the Federal College for Tourism and Business Professions in Bergheidengasse in Vienna, Riedl initially worked in the tourism industry. He then became head of the office of the Catholic youth group of the diocese of St. Pölten and later moved to Vienna as federal manager. Riedl remained federal manager until July 2007 and was also active in this function as chairman of the federal youth council.

While still in the Jungschar, Riedl worked as an editor and presenter at ORF's special interest broadcaster TW1 , after which he was the foreign policy editor of Zeit im Bild . After three years in the current service, Riedl moved to the ORF's religious department in 2009. From 2010 he was the main presenter of the program Orientation , representing other religious programs. a. criss-cross . He also moderated special programs on events with a religious reference, such as reporting on the 2013 Conclave .

On December 11, 2017, he took over the management of the Solidarity, Communication and Social Affairs department at Caritas St. Pölten . Sandra Szabo followed him as the presenter of the program Orientation .

Private

Christoph Riedl grew up in Vienna-Mariahilf.

Riedl had been married to radio journalist Barbara Daser since 2014 and used the double name Riedl-Daser until the divorce in 2019 .
