Christoph Sätzl

Christoph Sätzl (born February 20, 1592 probably in Meersburg , Hochstift Konstanz , † April 13, 1655 in Hall in Tirol ) was an Austrian composer .

Life

After studying at the grammar school in Freiburg im Breisgau , Sätzl worked as Kapellmeister at Brixner Dom from 1621 . Eleven years later, in 1632, he moved to the aristocratic Haller Damenstift in the same position . He stayed there until his death.

Sätzl was considered one of the most important music composers of the Hall court orchestra. His exclusively sacred works achieved national fame in his time.
