Christoph Wölfflin (born December 23, 1625 in Kirchheim unter Teck , † October 30, 1688 in Stuttgart ) was a German Lutheran theologian and professor at the University of Tübingen .

Life

Christoph Wölfflin enrolled in Tübingen in 1639. From 1651 he was a deacon in Urach and in 1657 moved to Tübingen, where from 1660 he was associate professor of theology at the university and at the same time superattendent of the ducal monastery . In 1661 he was promoted to Dr. theol. PhD. In 1669 he came to Stuttgart as court preacher and consistorial councilor and in 1671 became abbot of the Lorch monastery . From 1680 he was provost in Stuttgart.

His portrait, painted in 1661, hangs in the Tübingen professors' gallery .
