Christoph Werner (organ builder)

Christoph Werner (born 1633 , buried September 23, 1706 in Berlin ) was a German organ builder in Berlin. Its positive in the St. Nikolai Church in Jüterbog is the oldest surviving organ in Brandenburg.

Life

Christoph Werner was a son of the organ builder Andreas Werner . In 1659 he was named as an instrument maker and limestone at the court in Berlin. After his father's death, he took over his workshop around 1663. In 1667 he was appointed court organ builder in Berlin.

Christoph Werner was married to Dorothea Buntebart. On September 23, 1706, both were buried in the Petrikirchhof in Berlin.
