Christoph von Elmendorff

Christoph Bernhard Joseph Franz Anton Maria Freiherr von Elmendorff (born June 16, 1774 , † December 17, 1834 in Höxter ) was a German canon and politician from the noble family Elmendorff .

Von Elmendorff was Herr zu Langewische in the county of Tecklenburg and the old court in Höxter. He married Florentine Antoinette nee Rode. The children Ferdinand (* 1813), Caroline and Ludwig (* 1821; later became a member of the Prussian House of Representatives) resulted from the marriage.

Von Elmendorff, who was a Catholic, was canon in Lübeck and Paderborn. In the actually Protestant bishopric of Lübeck , up to four canons could be of the Catholic denomination; von Elmendorff had been the third Catholicus there since 1795. In Paderborn he was canon from 1798 to 1810. His marriage took place after the secularization-related expiration of this spiritual benefice.

In 1830/31 he was a member of parliament for the constituency of Paderborn and the city of Münster in the provincial parliament of the province of Westphalia .
