Life

After training as a rhabilleur at the watchmaking school in Geneva from 1978 to 1982, Christophe Claret founded the RPC company in Le Locle in 1989 together with Dominique Renaud and Giulio Papi (now at Audemars Piguet ) . In 1992 he became the sole owner of the company and renamed it Christophe Claret SA . Through this company he manufactured wristwatches with minute repeater or tourbillon for Harry Winston , Ellicott , Guy Ellia , George Graham and his affiliate Jean Dunand , also under his own name. From the year 1997, he built the world's first mechanical wristwatches with integrated music box (Engl. Music Box watch ) that automatically play on the hour or on a button. In 2003, together with Thierry Ouvelay, he founded the Jean Dunand company , named after the Art Deco artist Jean Dunand . For this purpose, Claret constructed a Grande Complication with 827 individual parts ( caliber CLA96 ) and a wristwatch with a double-rotating orbital tourbillon. In 2004 Claret produced an automatic watch with a tourbillon for Harry Winston , in which the winding did not function via a rotor, but via sliding weights. In 2011 he developed a wristwatch with a roulette and blackjack mechanism, the Blackjack 21 .
