Olimpia Aldobrandini (1623–1681)

Olimpia Aldobrandini (* April 20, 1623 , † December 18, 1681 ) was the last heir to the Roman branch of the originally Florentine Aldobrandini family .

Life

Olimpia was born the daughter of Giorgio Aldobrandini, (Prince of Meldola , Sarsina and Rossano ), and Ippolita Ludovisi (niece of Pope Gregory XV. , Daughter of Orazio Ludovisi and sister of Niccolò Ludovisi).

In 1638 she married Paolo Borghese (1622–1646) from the Borghese noble family , who died eight years later. In the following year she married Camillo Francesco Maria Pamphilij , son of Olimpia Maidalchini and nephew of Pope Innocent X. Part of her dowry in the second marriage was a collection of paintings.

She had a total of nine children, five from her first and four from her second marriage.

Their extensive inheritance, including the Villa Aldobrandini on the Quirinal in Rome and the Villa Aldobrandini in Frascati, first fell to the Princes Pamphilij , after their extinction to the Princes Borghese , one of the younger branches of which lives on to this day as Prince Aldobrandini .
