Christophe Haller

Christophe Haller (born June 19, 1957 in Basel ) is a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

After attending normal school, Haller studied economics at the University of Basel . In 1982 he graduated as lic. rer. pole. from. He is currently working as a general agent for Vaudoise Insurance in Basel.

At the age of 20 after graduating from high school, he joined the young liberals and later the FDP Basel-Stadt . At the end of the 1980s he presided over the Young Liberals of Basel-Stadt. In 1997 he was elected to the Basel Citizens' Council ( executive ) and held this office until 2005. There he was head of department of the bourgeois orphanage and presided over the citizens' council in 2001/02. On February 2, 2005, he was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Basel-Stadt and in 2006 became President of the FDP parliamentary group . In parliament he is a member of the economic and tax commission and the election preparation commission. He also had a seat in the special commission for the revision of the Pension Fund Act.

Haller is married, has three children and lives in Basel.
