Christophe Léonard (politician)

Christophe Léonard (born January 31, 1971 in Charleville-Mézières ) is a French politician . He has been a member of the National Assembly since 2012 .

Léonard graduated with a Masters Degree in Finance and Accounting and a DESS in Local Administration. At the beginning of the 1990s he joined the Parti socialiste . In 1997 he started working as a parliamentary assistant . With his entry into the General Council of the Ardennes Department in 2008, he received his first own political mandate. In 2011 he was chairman of the parliamentary group of the socialists and their allies. In December of that year he was nominated as a candidate in the second constituency of the department for the upcoming parliamentary elections. In doing so, he prevailed against the previous MP and his party friend Philippe Vuilque , who had been excluded from the Parti socialiste.
