Shoe print and landmark number

The Christophel shoe , also called a woman 's shoe , is a Loogfels - a rock on which special notches have been made to mark a border . It lies on the boundary of the rural towns of Deidesheim and Wachenheim on the Weinstrasse and is listed as an individual monument in the list of monuments of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate .

location

The Christophel shoe is located in the Palatinate Forest on the Vorderen Stoppelkopf (formerly called Geyersnest). It is located on the northern boundary of Deidesheim and the southern boundary of Wachenheim, a few meters away from hiking trails and is hidden in the undergrowth. The Kurpfalzpark is located about 1 km to the northeast .

There is another stone nearby on the head of the corner , which is also called the Christophel shoe (also known as the "Big Shoe"). However, this is probably not a boundary stone, but a signpost.
