Architecture and history

The core of the brick hall church dates back to the 13th century. The nave was extended in the east in the 14th century. The gable on the east side has five rising pointed arches. During a renovation in the Baroque period from 1725 to 1727, the church was given its current appearance. Flat-arched windows and a southern portal were created. The square lattice tower on the west side of the ship was also built during this time . It has an octagonal lantern and a tail hood , with the tower building on the substructure of an older tower. In 1995 the tower was renovated.

The interior of the church is spanned by a flat wooden beam ceiling. The tower is connected to the nave by a large round arch, with the west gallery built in the 19th century concealing the partially walled round arch. The simple furnishings of the church date from the 19th century. The pulpit altar, richly decorated with carvings, with side passages, which was built as early as 1725, is of an older date . The pulpit's basket is polygonal and is framed by columns and pilasters . Above the basket there is a sound cover , above it an eye of God in ray glory.

Gate in the eastern churchyard wall

The epitaph of the manor owner Carl Friedrich von Goldbeck, who died in 1759, and his wife Dorothea Elisabeth Amalie, who died in 1774, can be found on the north wall of the church . It shows the emblem of jurisprudence above the cornice . Another epitaph is located on the southern side and was created for Carl Ludwig Kamlah, who died in 1779 .

In the east wall of the churchyard there is a brick arched passage with a pedestrian gate, which was built in the early 16th century.
