Gottfried Gruner

Gottfried Gruner (* 1923 in Stollberg ; † July 12, 2011 in Rexingen ) was a German artist . Gruner worked as a sculptor and water kinetician. He is considered a pioneer of solar art. His works are located in squares and green spaces in over 60 cities in Germany.

life and work

Gruner grew up in the Eastern Ore Mountains and studied at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts . In 1950 he left the GDR with his wife . Both continued their studies at the Art Academy in Münster and later at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart . The Gruners lived in Stuttgart until 1988. After that they moved to Rexingen .
