Christy Ruth Walton (* 8. February 1949 in Jackson, Wyoming as Christy Ruth Tallant ) is an American entrepreneur and philanthropist. She is one of the richest people in the world with a net worth of $ 7.3 billion as of March 2019.

Life

The widow of Walmart heir, John T. Walton, inherited her fortune in 2005 after he was killed in a plane crash. Their son Lukas Walton also inherited part of the property. Christy Walton is a shareholder in the Walmart Group, in Arvest Bank , the largest bank in Arkansas , and in the photovoltaic manufacturer First Solar .

She leads a secluded life in Jackson, Wyoming .

Walton's social policy engagement in the USA is worth mentioning . She is associated with non-profit organizations such as the Trustees and Staff Association, Corporate Giving Officers, The Philanthropy Roundtable, the San Diego Zoological Society, and the Mingei International Museum, to which she regularly makes donations. She is also a board member of the San Diego Natural History Museum and supports her family's foundation, the Walton Family Charitable Support Foundation, which primarily supports schools and universities financially.
