Chuck Lear

Chuck Lear (born June 30, 1946 ) is an American archer .

Lear served in the United States Marine Corps . In February 1967 he retired from active service due to injuries sustained in the Vietnam War. During his military service he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry , among others .

Lear now attended Armstrong College in Berkeley , California , where he received his bachelor's degree in June 1970 . Lear began archery at the National Veterans Wheelchair Games , where he won a gold medal every time he participated. In June 2002 he took part in a NAA tournament for the first time and ended up in third place. In 2008 in Beijing , Lear was again part of the US team after Athens . He competed in W1.

In addition to the sport, Lear is active in the Third Battalion Fourth Marines Association and is a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America . He is also a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart and the Disabled Veterans of America .

Lear is married with three children, three stepchildren and six grandchildren.
