The Chutine River is an orographic right tributary of the Stikine River in the northwest of the Canadian province of British Columbia .

The Chutine River rises in the glaciated Stikine Icecap . Initially it flows south. It flows through Chutine Lake . The river continues its course in a south-easterly direction, but then turns to the east. It takes the right tributaries Dirst Creek , Triumph Creek and Pendant Creek and the Barrington River from the left. Finally, the Chutine River joins the south-flowing Stikine River 35 km southwest of Telegraph Creek . The Chutine River has a length of about 90 km. The mean discharge is 140 m³ / s.

Until 1935 the river was named Clearwater River .
