The Cicaré SVH-3 is a stationary helicopter trainer from the Argentine manufacturer Cicaré Helicópteros .

History and construction

In the course of his work on the various helicopters he had developed, Augusto Cicaré discovered that there was a lack of suitable equipment to learn how to operate helicopters in a safe and cost-saving manner. So far, only the Bölkow Bo 102 existed, which was built in small numbers. So he started working on such a machine. The result was the SVH-3 , which is modeled on a conventional helicopter, but can perform the most important flight maneuvers of a helicopter on the ground. For this purpose, it is fixed in a movable frame, which allows it to practice hovering as well as to learn inclination and take-off and landing procedures in a safe way. The SVH-3 can also be remote controlled. Thus, different dangerous situations (e.g. engine failure) can be practiced.

The machine itself consists of the welded tubular steel frame typical of Augusto Cicaré , which is provided with a single-seat cabin made of composite materials and is driven by a Rotax 582 two - cylinder two-stroke engine with 48 kW or a Rotax 912 four- cylinder boxer engine with 59 kW. The whole thing is suspended in an extendable frame mounted on a moving platform. The platform can be fixed stationary so that it cannot move from the place.
