The Cicaré CH-1 was a helicopter made by the Argentine manufacturer Cicaré Helicópteros .
history
The CH-1 was the first helicopter designed and built in South America. The Argentine engineer Augusto Cicaré began working on the model in his home workshop in 1958 and was able to complete the maiden flight in 1961.
construction
The helicopter was a single-seat model that was actually built around the engine, which was in the center of the model, which was made in an open tubular steel frame construction. The motor drove two coaxially opposing two-bladed main rotors, which meant that a tail rotor could be omitted. The air-cooled boxer engine with 45 kW was an in-house development by Cicaré.
