Cihat Abaoğlu

Cihat Abaoğlu (* 1914 in Konya , Turkey ; † December 25, 1979 in Istanbul ) was a Turkish doctor.

Life

Abaoğlu went to school in Izmir . In 1939 he graduated from the Medical Faculty of Istanbul University . From 1942 to 1945 he specialized at the Medical Military Academy Gülhane as an internist. In 1947 Abaoğlu obtained the Doçent degree . In 1949 he went to the USA and worked for two years at Columbia University in New York . In 1954 he went back to Turkey. In 1961 he became a professor. He headed clinics of the Çapa Medical Faculty. From 1965 to 1968 he was the dean of the medical faculty.

Abaoğlu is the author of two classics of Turkish medicine:

  • Semptomdan Teşhise . Istanbul 1952
  • Teşhists Tedaviye . Istanbul 1953
