The Cime du Gélas (dt. Eisspitze ) is a three-thousand-meter peak in the Maritime Alps . With a height of 3,143 m, it is the highest mountain in the Parc National du Mercantour and one of the southernmost three-thousand-meter peaks in the Alps. The summit is on the border between the Italian province of Cuneo and the French department of Alpes-Maritimes . The first ascent took place in 1864 by Paolo di Saint-Robert.
