CipherTrust, Inc. was a software company based in Alpharetta , GA (a suburb of Atlanta ) with worldwide office locations, the software to e-mail - spam produced. According to Gartner Inc. and other analysts, CipherTrust was the market leader in email security.
The company was co-founded by former VeriSign employees Jay Chaudhry and Lawrence Hughes. The Technical Director (CTO) Paul Judge was chairman of the Anti-Spam Research Group (ASRG) of the IRTF . In August 2006, CipherTrust was acquired by Secure Computing Corp. for 273.6 M $. The original product lines are still offered.
Products
The main product was the very successful IronMail ™ gateway application . A new product called IronIM ™ was recently introduced to secure instant messaging. One of the useful services of CipherTrust is the tracking of zombie machines , which are a major source of spam.
