Cipher System is a Swedish melodic death metal band.

history

Cipher System was founded in 1996. The demo Path of Delight , recorded in 1998, aroused the interest of a label , but since all band members were under 18, no contract was concluded. With the demo Eyecon and other tracks, Cipher System was able to attract the attention of Lifeforce Records , so that in 2003 the three tracks not represented on Eyecon were released on a split EP with By Night .

The debut album Central Tunnel Eight followed in 2004 . After this album it was quite quiet around the band at times. After Andreas Solveström joined the band as the new singer in March 2008 and Andreas Allenmark became the new guitarist in May 2008, Cipher System announced new recordings and negotiations with record companies. With Objection and Forget to Forgive demo versions of two new songs have been discontinued on MySpace. In March 2009 the drummer Emil Frisk was introduced as the successor to Pontus Andersson.

Singer Andreas Solveström left in June 2009 due to lack of time, as he would like to devote more time to his other two band projects. The new singer was Carl Obbel, who can also be heard on the 2011 album Communicate the Storms .
