The municipality of Tjörn comprises the entire island of the same name and a number of smaller islands.
economy
Tjörn's economy is still dominated by fishing and boat building. The largest employers are the shipyards B&N , Djupviks varv and Rönnviks varv . Vallhamn is Sweden's largest import port for cars.
The tourism is increasing today and is becoming one of the most important sectors of the economy; During the summer months, the number of inhabitants doubles due to the number of tourists. Many residents also commute to Gothenburg to work.

Attractions
The Nordiska akvarellmuseet , an art museum, is located in the main town of Skärhamn . Other sights are the churches, for example the Valla kyrka .
A stone age dolmen is the oldest monument on the island. Rock paintings and judges rings are also available. The Vikings also left their mark, so there is a round grave.
