Coordinates: 58 ° 11 '  N , 12 ° 43'  O Essunga is a municipality ( Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province Västra län and the historical province Västergötland . The main town of the municipality is Nossebro .

history

In 1952 the large parish of Essunga was formed from a few parishes ( socks ) in the area. Then in 1974 the area was incorporated into the municipality of Vara . Barely ten years later, in 1983 the community was spun off within its old borders and became independent again. Nossebro, which was the center of a rural community from 1918 to 1963, was designated the capital.
