Götene is a municipality ( Swedish commun ) in the Swedish province of Västra Götalands län and the historic province of Västergötland and is located on the east bank of the Vänern . The main town is Götene . Other localities are Forshem, Hällekis , Husaby , Källby, Kinne-Kleva, Kinne-Vedum, Lundsbrunn , Årnäs and other small villages.
