Lundsbrunn is a place ( Tatort ) in the Swedish municipality of Götene . It is located about twelve kilometers north of the city of Skara and has 909 inhabitants (2015).
Lundsbrunn is an old water spa. In 1724 the old sacrificial spring in Lundsbrunn was first mentioned in writing as a healing spring. In the following decades a spa was established, in 1785 the first spa doctor came, and at the beginning of the 19th century bath houses, a hotel and spa salon were built. Lundsbrunn experienced its heyday in the 19th century, but things went downhill after the First World War . In the mid-1950s, Lundsbrunn was facing bankruptcy. At the beginning of the 1970s, a new upswing began for the health resort. Today, the former spa facilities have concentrated on three areas of activity: conferences, spa and golf.
The old spa buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries are of particular cultural and historical interest, for example the poor hospital Jacquette du Rietz stiftelse, designed by the architect Carl Magnus Piper in a classical style and built in 1817 .
Lundsbrunn is the end point of the Skara – Lundsbrunn museum railway, which is used by steam trains and rail buses in the summer season (late June to early September).
