The village of Horpe is part of the municipality of Lindlar , Oberbergischen Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Horpe is east of Lindlar on the way to Remshagen and Engelskirchen.
history
Horpe was first mentioned in 1413 as "horphaen". The name is made up of the syllables "hor" or "horu" for swamp and "haen" for the hedge or the enclosed area.
A house from Horpe is said to have been built with material from the partially demolished chapel in the hermitage .
