Location of Oberfrielinghausen in Lindlar

Oberfrielinghausen is a district of the municipality of Lindlar , Oberbergischen Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Oberfrielinghausen is located southwest of Lindlar between Hohkeppel and Wüstenhof on an elevation south of the Lennefebach valley . Other neighboring towns are Unterfrielinghausen , Rehbach and Brandsheide .

history

In 958 the place was mentioned for the first time as " Frilenchusen " in a deed of donation. The farm and the parish of Hohkeppel fell to the landlords of Lindlar.

The name of the Lehnhof Frielinghausen is derived from "Friling", an interest farmer in the sense of the Saxon mirror. In the Middle Ages, Frielinghausen belonged to the Vellingen community in the parish of Hohkeppel.

1715 are on the Topographia Ducatus Montani Ober- and Unterfrielinghausen together with Frielinghausen. The map shows four individual farms. In the map of the Topographical Survey of the Rhineland from 1825, both places are shown in geographically different locations, each with enclosed courtyards. The common place name is still Frielinghausen. At the location of Oberfrielinghausen, six separate building floor plans are shown. From the Prussian first recording in 1845, the topographical maps show the independent place name Oberfrielinghausen.

In the "Topographical-Statistical Description of the Royal Prussian Rhine Province" from 1830, 46 inhabitants are counted for Oberfrielinghausen.

Due to § 10 and § 14 of the Cologne Act , the municipality of Hohkeppel was dissolved in 1975 and extensive parts of Lindlar were incorporated. Including Oberfrielinghausen.
