history

There were two mill locations in the Oberleppe area. The mill, named "Stellershammer" in the Prussian premiere in 1840 , was mentioned as early as 1755 and was in operation until 1953. In 1973 the plant was reactivated, then again in 2012/2013. From 1927 to 1979 this hammer was called "Wahlscheidshammer". In 1990 the mill symbol and the pond disappeared from the topographic maps.

The second system, called "Müllershammer" in the Prussian first recording from 1840 , was noted in 1803 on the " Rummel card ". It bears the name "Old Hammer" on it . Until 1979 the topographic maps show the mill symbol and mill pond of the facility. The building of the Müllershammer is now in the Bergisches Freilichtmuseum Lindlar.

The railroad tracks of the Leppetalbahn ran through the village from 1897 to 1950 .
