history

The Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies , Blatt Amt Steinbach , shows that the residential area had several farms as early as 1715, which are labeled as Frangberg and referred to as a village without a church. From the chart of the Duchy of Berg by Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking from 1789 it emerges that the local area was at that time part of the Olpe honor in the parish of Olpe in the Bergisch Amt Steinbach .

The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1825 as Frangenberg . The Prussian first recording from 1840 shows the residential area also under the name Frangenberg . From the Prussian new admission of 1894/96, the place is regularly recorded as Frangenberg on measurement table sheets .

After the collapse of the Napoleonic administration and its replacement, the place belonged to the Olpe mayor in the Wipperfürth district .

In 1830, according to the topographical and statistical description of the Royal Prussian Rhine Province, Hof Frangenberg had 53 inhabitants. The place, which was categorized as a hamlet in 1845 according to the overview of the government district of Cologne , had ten residential buildings with 50 inhabitants at that time, all of them Catholic denominations.

The municipality and estate district statistics of the Rhine province lists Frangenberg in 1871 with nine residential buildings and 49 inhabitants. In the municipality lexicon for the province of Rhineland from 1888, eleven houses with 57 inhabitants are given for Frangenberg . In 1895 the place had nine houses with 50 inhabitants and was now a denominational part of the Catholic parish of Linde , in 1905 seven houses and 42 inhabitants are given.

Until the municipal reorganization in 1975, the place belonged to the mayor's office or municipality of Olpe. All the surrounding farms and villages, however, belonged to the municipality of Lindlar. Due to this strange field boundary, which had grown in the Middle Ages, it seemed to the council of the Lindlar community to incorporate the Frangenberg farm as expedient as early as 1890 .

Due to § 14 of the Cologne Act , the municipality of Olpe was dissolved in 1975 and the village of Frangenberg was incorporated into Lindlar . The main part of the municipality of Olpe with an area of 19.86 km² with 2253 inhabitants at that time was incorporated into the municipality of Kürten. Lindlar received 60 hectares with 52 inhabitants at the time.
