Unterhürholz is located west of Lindlar on the edge of the Lindlarer Sülz valley . The neighboring towns are Oberhürholz , Siebensiefen , Scheurenhof and Waldbruch .

history

In 1487 Unterhürholz is mentioned for the first time in a list of loans for Duke Wilhelm III von Berg with the name "Huyrhoultze" . In the Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715, the place is recorded as a single farm. The place name here is "Hüerholz" . The map topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 shows the place in a delimited courtyard and uses the place name Unterhürholz, which is common today.
