The hamlet Wüstenhof is a district of the municipality of Lindlar in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Wüstenhof is located in the south of the municipality of Lindlar on the border with the municipality of Engelskirchen . To the north lies the village of Klespe , to the west Oberfrielinghausen .

history

In the Middle Ages, Wüstenhof belonged to the Helling Honschaft in the parish of Lindlar.

In 1798 a private school was built in the place. The single-class school was moved to Klespe in 1802 and to Lingenbach in 1803 .

The municipality and estate district statistics of the Rhine Province lists Wüstenhof 1871 with eleven houses and 63 inhabitants.

In 1830 the Topographisch-Statistische [n] description of the Royal Prussian Rhine Province noted: "Wurthscheid with 46 [inhabitants]".

In 1932 the towns of Unterheiligenhoven, Klespe, Berg, Stolzenbach, Ellesbach and Wüstenhof were to be supplied with electricity by the Overath electricity cooperative, according to the council decision of the Lindlar community council.
