history

Eibach was first mentioned as eybach in 1352 . For a long time there was a moated castle in Eibach , Eibach Castle , of which only a ruin now testifies.

The Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies , Blatt Amt Steinbach , shows that the residential area already existed in 1715, which is called Adelichhaus and labeled as Ebach . Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking names the court on his charter of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 as Ebach . It shows that the place was part of the Honschaft Scheel in the upper parish of Lindlar at that time.

The Prussian first recording from 1840 shows the residential area under the name Eibach . From the Prussian new admission of 1894/96, the place is regularly recorded on measuring table sheets as Eibach .

In 1822 seven people lived together in the two places called Rittersitz and Eisenhammer (meaning the Eibachhammer ), which after the collapse of the Napoleonic administration and its replacement belonged to the Lindlar mayor in the Wipperfürth district . For the year 1830 seven inhabitants are given for both places called Rittersitz and Eisenhammer . According to the overview of the government district of Cöln in 1845 , the double town called Eibach and categorized as Hof and Osemundshammer had a residential building with 15 residents at that time, all of whom were Catholic.

The Eibach manor in 1871, with one house and eleven residents , lists the municipality and estate district statistics of the Rhine Province . In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province of 1888, a house with twelve residents is given for Eibach . In 1895 the place has two houses with six inhabitants and belonged denominationally to the Protestant parish Hülsenbusch and the Catholic parish Frielingsdorf , in 1905 two houses and 15 inhabitants are given.
