The village of Oberbüschem with about 35 inhabitants is a district of the municipality of Lindlar , Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Oberbüschem is located in the north of Lindlar north of Hartegasse on the border with Wipperfürth . Neighboring places are Buchholz , Roderwiese and Unterbüschem . To the west rises near the place with 306.1 m the Kolersberg, on whose slopes facing Oberbüschem is the "Camping Oberbüschem" with several permanent campsites. Oberbüschem can be reached via the L284 via Unterfeld, Oberfeld , Roderwiese or via Hartegasse , Kapellensüng , Unterbüschem .

Büschem was first mentioned in a document as Buchshem in 1318 .

In 1794 residents of Thier tried to move parts of the Lindlar parish, especially the Buchholz, Roderwiese and Oberbüschem farms, which are now part of the Süng parish, to Thier in order to raise Thier to the parish. This failed, however, as this "alarming and incitement" was forbidden by the sovereign after a complaint from the pastor of Lindlar.

In the "Topographical-Statistical Description of the Royal Prussian Rhine Province" it was noted in 1830: "Ober-Büschem with 50 [inhabitants]".
