Scheller is a place in the municipality of Lindlar in the Oberbergisches Kreis ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

Location and description

Scheller is located in the southwest of Lindlar on the edge of a hill labeled "Mühlenberg" and measuring 258.8 m in height. To the east of the village is the Lindlar open-air museum . The neighboring towns are Kemmerich , Unterheiligenhoven , Klespe and Berg .

history

1534 Scheller is mentioned for the first time in a brotherhood book of a Marian brotherhood with the name "Scheller" . In the map of the Topographical Survey of the Rhineland from 1825, the location is shown on a delimited courtyard with three building plans. The Prussian first recording from 1840 called the place "Auf Scheller" .
