Josefsthal was a district of the municipality of Lindlar in the Oberbergisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Location and description

The living space was east of the national road 129, which leads from Lindlar to Wipperfeld , north of Obersteinbach and Untersteinbach . Another neighboring town was Ommerborn .

history

The place did not emerge until the second half of the 19th century and is recorded as Josephsthal on the map of the deposits of usable minerals in the area around Bensberg and Ründeroth from 1882 . Also from the Prussian re-recording of 1894/96 on Ordnance Survey regularly as Josefsthal recorded.

The municipal and Gutbezirksstatistik the Rhine Province leads Joseph Dahl 1871 with three houses and eleven residents. In the municipality encyclopedia for the Rhineland province of 1888, two houses with eight residents are given for Josefsthal . In 1895 the place has two houses with four inhabitants and belonged denominationally to the Catholic parish Süng , in 1905 two houses and 13 inhabitants are given.

In the 1960 / 70s the place fell into desolation.
