Pothoff is a district of the municipality of Lindlar in the Oberbergisches Kreis , North Rhine-Westphalia.

Location and description

Pothoff is located in the eastern part of the municipality of Lindlar bei Scheel . The living space is no longer recognizable as an independent place and is completely fused with Scheel. A neighboring town is Frielingsdorf .

history

In 1487 the place was first mentioned in a loan list for Duke Wilhelm III. mentioned in a document by Berg . The spelling of the first mention was Potthof / Pothoffe.

The chart of the Duchy of Berg by Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking from 1789 shows that the local area was part of the Scheel family in the Lindlar parish at that time .
