The Leppe is a 19.4 km long orographically right tributary of the Agger in the Bergisches Land , North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).
geography
The source of the Leppe is located in the municipality of Marienheide , about 500 m southwest of the town of Stülinghausen at an altitude of 358 m above sea level. NN . From here on it flows primarily in a south-westerly direction. Your route takes you past Däinghausen , Kotthausen , Himmerkusen , Hüttenermühle , Jedinghagen and Untererlinghagen .
From Kaiserau the Leppe flows mainly south, passes Bickenbach and flows after 19 km at Engelskirchen at 122 m above sea level. NN in the Agger. On its way from the source to the mouth, it overcomes 236 meters in altitude, which corresponds to an average bed gradient of 12.4 ‰.

Throughout Leppetal settled in the 17th century metallurgical and hammer works on. Around 1800 there were 25 stretching, scythe and band hammers powered by the water power of the Leppe. The few remaining companies have now specialized in the manufacture and processing of stainless steel .
