Jedinghagen is a village in the municipality of Marienheide in the Oberbergisches Kreis , North Rhine-Westphalia .

The place is five kilometers southwest of the community center in the Leppetal .

history

The place was first mentioned on May 4, 1467, when "Heyne van Jeidinckhagen" was a juror at the high court of Neustadt .

Until the end of the 19th century , the place was called Gedinghagen , which was changed over time to today's spelling due to the pronunciation in Low German . The oldest surviving house in the village dates from 1607.

The village of Jedinghagen belonged to the imperial rule of Gimborn-Neustadt until 1806 . After belonging to the Grand Duchy of Berg (1806-1813) and a provisional transitional administration , the region came to the Kingdom of Prussia in 1815 on the basis of the agreements made at the Congress of Vienna . Under the Prussian administration, the place first belonged to the Gimborn district (1816–1825) and then to the Gummersbach district in the Rhine Province . In 1843 Jedinghagen had 133 inhabitants who lived in 28 houses.
