history
First mention
The place was mentioned for the first time in 1281/1313, namely "In the list of properties of Gr. Ludwig von Arnsberg , Abertus dict. Bruning bona Wilverinchusen is mentioned."
The spelling of the first mention was Wilverinchusen .
Specialty
Until the political regional reform in 1975 , Wilbringhausen belonged to Kierspe , at that time in the Lüdenscheid district . In terms of the church, however, the boundaries have not changed: The place still belongs to the Protestant parish of Kierspe and the Catholic parish of St. Josef, Kierspe ( Meinerzhagen parish ), in the Essen diocese . (In order to change diocese boundaries - unlike parish boundaries - an NRW law and a decree of the Vatican are necessary)
Sons and daughters of the church
- Ursel Wahrburg (* 1956), Professor of Ecotrophology at Münster University of Applied Sciences, grew up in Wilbringhausen.
