Obergogarten is located in the northwest of Marienheide in the valley of the Obergogarten brook . Neighboring places are Krommenohl , Kempershöhe and Sattlershöhe .

history

In the topographical map ( Prussian New Admission ) from 1894 to 1896, a mill symbol is recorded by a pond in Obergogarten. On the same map, a dynamite factory is shown 600 m south-east of the village . With the topographic map from 1947, the mill symbol and the dynamite factory are no longer noted. The place name Obergogarten was used in the topographic maps until 1984. On more recent maps, the place name is "Gogarten".
