Winkel is a village in the municipality of Marienheide in the Oberbergisches Kreis , administrative district of Cologne , North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany .

Location and description

The place is two kilometers southwest of the community center between the villages of Niederwette and Dürhölzen .

history

First mention

1417 to John the Baptist (June 24), Wynckel; Henderich Wynckel and his sons Wynicke and Tillemann are named in the Loe Collection (former Tomasbibliothek Walberberg) in a sales document. The place was mentioned in a document for the second time after 1450. A “Katherina in dem Winckell” was one of the wax interest groups of the Cologne Apostelstifts. The spelling was Winckell .

The St. Hubertus Chapel has existed on a nearby hilltop above the Hofschaft since November 6, 1999 .
